Signal Types

TPT handles the following signal types:

	channel
	parameter
	constant
	measurement
	assessment variable

Signal types are specified in the Declaration Editor when signals are declared, see Declaration Editor. These declarations can be copied from one TPT project and pasted into another TPT project.

Instead of manually declaring signals in the Declaration Editor, you can import an interface of a SUT from different sources, see Declarations - Import Interface. The signal attributes of the test can differ from the signal attributes of the SUT. To handle those differences, mappings are needed, see Declarations - Mappings.

If signal types should be displayed in the Signal Viewer, you must export them. Select the Record checkbox in the Declaration Editor, see Edit Declarations. If signal types should be displayed in the Report Signal Table, select them in the Report Signal Table assesslet, see Assesslets - Report Signal Table.
